CANTON The Timken High School football team rolled to its biggest shutout in school history Friday night, a 44-0 victory over Fairless at Fawcett Stadium in a PAC-7 game.
Eric Lacey scored five touchdowns to lead the way for the Trojans (4-2, 1-2). The senior receiver scored four TDs on catches, as he totaled five receptions for 147 yards. He also returned a punt 78 yards for a touchdown.
Quarterback Malek Williams threw for 262 yards and five touchdowns. Shaun Curtis added a 55-yard touchdown run for Timken.
The Trojan defense posted its first shutout since Week 1 of last season and held the Falcons (2-4, 1-2) to just 77 yards of total offense.
Fairless quarterback Hunter Wells threw for 90 yards but was intercepted three times. Brandon Hogue caught five passes for 53 yards.
The four wins for the Trojans are their most since going 4-6 in 2000.
The 44-point victory margin is the largest for Timken since it beat Lehman, 52-6, in 1974. The Trojans, who have been playing football since 1939, had never scored more points in a shutout.
